An interesting fact about this farm is its connection to the Czech Republic. In 1914, while World War I was raging in Europe, Czechoslovakian Alois St. Hartmann emigrated to Pennsylvania, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his family's story by changing his name. As Luis Hartmann, he later purchased land in Chiriquí, Panama, built a house, planted the first coffee trees, and laid the foundation for the family's coffee legacy. The farm still belongs to Luis's direct descendants, allowing you to enjoy the unique product of the Hartmann family, which has found its way back to the Czech lands.
