This is our first coffee from Tanzania – and it has an Ethiopian vibe. We are excited!

This batch has a decent amount of complexity, delivering a pleasantly fruity coffee with floral notes and a distinct sweetness of stone fruit and orange tea that transforms into milk chocolate as it cools. Enjoy this lively medium roast profile that works great as a stand-alone espresso or as an espresso tonic.

Burka Coffee Estates Ltd. is a company that owns three adjacent farms in the Arusha area. All three farms grow high-quality Arabica, which is grown in the shade, washed and dried in the sun. Burka Estates is located on the slopes of Mount Meru and is one of the largest coffee plantations in Tanzania.

Burka employs over 200 permanent staff and approximately 300 seasonal or contract staff. During harvest time, the number of staff varies between 1000 and 2000, depending on the size of the crop. Burka Coffee Estates Ltd. operates two independent wet processing stations, which allows it to have full control over the processing of the coffee.

For each coffee , we choose a roasting profile according to the individual parameters of each lot , so as to bring out the unique flavor profile of each product, taking into account altitude, processing method, acidity and sweetness.

Ecology

We pack our coffee in recyclable bags that do not contain aluminum and are produced with a zero carbon footprint.
