The coffee comes from Hacienda La Papaya farm in the Saraguro Formation region of Loja Province, Ecuador, run by producer Juan Peña, known for his scientific and precise agronomic practices. The farm is located at a high altitude of around 1900-2100 m above sea level, which promotes slow ripening of the cherries and complex flavor nuances.

The farm is also an important employer in the local community and the majority of workers are women, underscoring the social impact of coffee production.
